PODOSTEMACEAE IN ASIA AND AUSTRALIA
According to Cook & Rutishauser (2007) there are 13 podostemaceous genera occurring in Asia (few of them also in Australia). All of them are lacking in Africa and America. Tristicha which is widespread in Africa and America is only found in Asia and Australia if Malaccotristicha is merged into Tristicha (as done by Cook & Rutishauser 2007). Go to “Keys – Introduction” in order to get an identification key and short descriptions of all Asian (and Australian) genera. Meanwhile additional genera (and species) were discovered, described or renamed by the Japanese botanist Masahiro Kato and his team. |
