During my PhD, I will study speciation and the genomics of speciation. I will be performing experimental evolution in fast-cycling Brassica plants and hope to observe real-time speciation as a consequence of soil adaptation. Building on the existing evolution experiment that has already led to the formation of ecotypes, I aim to study divergent selection, local adaptation and the rise of reproductive isolation and identify the genomic basis of these mechanisms.
