UZH’s governance structures, organizational and management culture, and daily operations are in line with the goal of sustainable development. The goal of sustainable development is the current and future well-being of all people. " (Sustainability Policy, ratified by the Extended Executive Board of UZH on 5 February 2019.)
The purposes of the Sustainability Committee are: (1) to be a reference point for any sustainability issues at and around the department, (2) to monitor daily work processes and improve their sustainability, (3) to engage in an open and unbiased dialogue, and (4) finally write recommendations for the department.
The Department of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany (ISEB) Sustainability Committee has been established at the Department Staff Meeting on September 12, 2019. The committee shall represent the large diversity of staff and expertise and thus be well anchored at the department. The Sustainability Committee has an advisory function on all levels of the department and works in close collaboration with neighboring departments and stakeholders, in particular the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB), the operation service of the UZH and the ZFV. The committee is in close contact with the UZH Sustainability Commission and the Sustainability Team at the University of Zürich.
